LAUSD Parent Involvement Policy
The LAUSD is committed to engaging parents in their child’s education. Over 30 years of research confirms the important role of parent involvement in student achievement. Parents are their child’s first and lifelong teachers and can influence their child’s education outcomes in powerful and long-lasting ways. The core belief that parents are our partners is the foundation for the District’s overarching policy on parent engagement and is reinforced through its Title I Parent Involvement Policy and school-level parent involvement policies. A copy of the District's Title Parent Involvement Policy has been sent home with your child. Every Title I school is required to mail the District Title I Parent and Family Engagement Policy to parents annually. A copy of the policy could be found on our website: English Español
Parent Center
Our fully staffed bilingual Parent Center is a thriving school hub. The Parent Center serves as a meeting/working space for its many parent-directed volunteer services and projects; provides information about community and college events and resources; and hosts various parent classes taught by our staff as well as community/university representatives during both day and evening times. Visitors will find a welcoming room with spacious tables and chairs, 24 laptop computers, printers, projection equipment, and coffee. The Parent Center is located around the corner from the Library, next to the College Center and is open during school hours.
